WHAT IS IT?

It's an internet platform and music&video label which cultivateS relationships and actions of mutual benefit between music ( and video ) artists and NGO's - civil society, human rights and environmental. Both artists and NGO's benefit from a revenue system based on donations and sales (DVD's, events, workshops and merchandising), as well from the promotion of both music and causes.

The key for sustainability of this project is the active engagement and participation of all the parts involved, which will be an expanding community of music fans, activists and artists (video, design, etc...) working both at a local and international level.

WHAT 'S THE IDEA BEHIND IT?

With the advent of the mp3 and P2P technologies, the music industry has suffered a big collapse where independent labels and musicians are no longer sustainable. New approaches and models of revenue are needed to both embrace the change to a digital paradigm and the sustainability of alternative music initiatives.
On the other hand, the flattening effect of the entertaining industry keeps the bigger audience unaware and disconnected from critical social and environmental scenarios. We believe that the money, energy and attention destined to this industry can well be diverted to initiatives and artists that promotes social change.


HOW IS IT GONNA WORK?

Making connections between music artists with common worries about social change:
Increasing the social and political awareness of music audiences and encourage their participation both in social and environmental causes through a music approach.
Testing a revenue model where both artists and NGO's are benefited from a participatory and proactive audience.
Creating an expanding community of music fans, activists and artists (video, design, etc...) working both at a local and international level.
Providing a space for cultural and artistic related activities with a grass-root think-tank.
